Karnataka HC halts compulsory service notification for PG medicos

Good News for PG Medical Graduates: High Court Stays Compulsory Government Service Notification

In a recent development, the Karnataka High Court has granted relief to hundreds of PG medical graduates by staying the July 12, 2024 notification that mandated them to register for compulsory government service. This decision came in response to petitions filed by Dr Suvetha P and others.

The petitioners argued that they had completed their PG Medical courses before the amendment Act requiring compulsory service came into effect. They expressed concerns about the unexpected notification impacting their current work commitments. The court acknowledged these concerns and temporarily halted the implementation of the notification.

The government advocate has been given time to respond, and the case is scheduled for further consideration on August 27. This ruling brings hope to affected graduates and ensures justice prevails in this matter.
