SBI Appoints Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as Chairman
The government has appointed C S Setty as chairman of State Bank of India (SBI) for a three-year term, succeeding Dinesh Kumar Khara.
Challa Sreenivasulu Setty’s appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Khara will retire when he reaches the age of 63, the upper age limit for the SBI chairman position.
Additionally, Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh has been appointed as MD at SBI.
SBI operates with a chairman and four MDs.
Singh will serve as MD until the age of superannuation on June 30, 2027.
Challa Sreenivasulu Setty
Setty, a seasoned banker, has held various leadership roles within SBI and government committees.
With extensive experience in banking, Setty began his career in 1988 and has expertise in multiple banking domains.
Born on September 26, 1965, Setty has dedicated over 35 years to SBI before becoming its chairman.
In June 2024, Setty was chosen as the 27th chairman of SBI, succeeding Dinesh Kumar Khara.
