Ensuring Security for Chinese Citizens in Pakistan

In the wake of security concerns following the Bisham bombing that claimed the lives of five Chinese nationals in Pakistan, a delegation from the Chinese business community met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss a security plan for the protection of Chinese citizens working on various projects in the country. Led by Consul General Zhao Shiren, the delegation shared their suggestions during a three-hour-long meeting on Tuesday.

Minister Naqvi assured the delegation of maximum security and facilitation for business purposes, emphasizing that the protection of Chinese citizens is a top priority for the government. In response to the concerns raised by China, the Pakistani government has formulated SOPs for the security plan to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting Chinese nationals during his visit to China in June.

Naqvi says online visas for Chinese nationals from Aug 14

Minister Naqvi announced that from August 14, Chinese citizens will be able to obtain visas online to travel to Pakistan, aiming to facilitate Chinese businessmen visiting the country. Consul General Shiren expressed hope for positive outcomes from the meeting, highlighting the strong relations between Pakistan and China.
