In a recent statement, Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib revealed that the Lebanese government is actively working to prevent Hezbollah from launching a severe response against Israel, which could potentially escalate into a full-scale war.
During a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo, Bou Habib emphasized the importance of avoiding an all-out conflict amidst rising tensions. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty also expressed condemnation towards the Israeli attack that resulted in the death of Hezbollah military chief Fouad Shukur and six others in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Hezbollah has pledged a strategic and calculated retaliation in response to the assassination of Shukur, promising a response that is both significant and well-considered.
