Armenia has emerged as one of the top recipients of funding in the Eurasian region, with the approval of a significant amount of funding according to the report by the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) titled “Sovereign Funding in the Eurasian Region: First half of 2024.” In the first half of 2024, a total of $2.3 billion in sovereign funding was approved for countries in the Eurasian region.
EFSD member countries received 72.9% of the approved funding, with Kazakhstan receiving the highest amount at $693.5 million, followed by Armenia at $527 million. The Republic of Armenia saw an increase of $178.1 million from the previous year, with significant funding approved for areas such as transport, public administration, and economic policy.
Additionally, the EFSD approved $100 million in funding to support Armenia’s economic transformation, aimed at assisting the country’s state budget in 2024 as part of the government’s reform program. The first half of the year also saw important international events in the region, including meetings of the ADB, EBRD, and CAREC.
