Zelensky: West afraid of Russia escalation – RT

Kiev is actively seeking support from its foreign backers to address growing concerns and threats from Russia, according to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. He has specifically called on NATO nations to form a coalition to intercept Russian missiles, a proposal that NATO has previously declined.

Despite facing resistance from Western powers hesitant to engage in direct military confrontations with Russia, Kiev continues to advocate for increased involvement from its allies to combat Russian aggression. Zelensky emphasized the need to overcome concerns of escalation and explore technical options for neighboring countries to help protect Ukraine from missile attacks.

The Ukrainian government recently signed a security agreement with Poland, further highlighting its efforts to bolster support from NATO members. While Poland has shown willingness to assist pending NATO approval, the US has advocated for providing Ukraine with more air defense systems for independent use.

Zelensky’s push for a no-fly zone over Ukraine has been met with skepticism, as military experts note the challenges of enforcing such a measure without significant NATO intervention. Amid ongoing conflicts with Russia and attacks on Ukrainian assets, Zelensky aims to utilize US-supplied F-16 fighter jets to enhance defense capabilities and counter Russian threats.
