A Ukrainian drone strike in southwestern Russia’s Belgorod region resulted in the death of a man, reported authorities on Tuesday. The incident occurred in the village of Novostroyevka-Vtoraya, bordering northeastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, as confirmed by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Gladkov stated that a moving vehicle was targeted by the Ukrainian military drone, leading to the driver’s demise before medical help could arrive. Following the tragedy, three air raid alerts were issued in the region.
In related events, Russia’s Defense Ministry disclosed the downing of nine drones in Belgorod and 13 in the Kursk region. The latter’s Governor, Alexei Smirnov, reported injuries to residents and significant structural damages from the attacks.
Moreover, Smirnov highlighted the successful repulsion of a border incursion by Ukrainian forces through combined efforts of Russia’s Federal Security Service and defense ministry border troops.
