Jaishankar informs all-party meeting about Bangladesh issue

An all-party meeting was held in the Parliament House discussing the Bangladesh issue after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled following a violent uprising. The meeting was attended by various leaders including S Jaishankar, Rajnath Singh, and Rahul Gandhi among others. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed the leaders on the situation in Bangladesh, thanking them for their support.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s army chief is set to meet student protest leaders as the country awaits the formation of a new government. Hasina, who fled to India, met with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Flights to and from Dhaka were cancelled by Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara due to the unrest. Train services between India and Bangladesh have also been suspended indefinitely.

This escalating situation in Bangladesh has led to significant disruptions in travel and communication between the two countries, with no immediate resolution in sight.
