US Vice President Kamala Harris has announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the upcoming Democratic Party elections on Nov. 5. Harris emphasized Walz’s commitment to the middle class and working families, citing his record as a governor, coach, teacher, and veteran.
Harris expressed confidence in their partnership, stating their shared goal of winning the election. She commended Walz’s accomplishments in infrastructure, tax cuts, and safeguarding abortion rights in Minnesota.
Despite criticism, Walz said it was an “honor of a lifetime” to join Harris on the ticket. Both candidates are gearing up for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, with Harris set to officially receive the nomination.
