The Federal Government has decided to offer public servants the opportunity to purchase a 50kg bag of rice at a subsidized rate of N40,000 in response to the food crisis affecting the nation. The initiative, aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by Nigerians, was announced in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs.
Interested staff members are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it for endorsement. The payment and distribution of the rice will be overseen by designated offices, with a representative from the Joint Union Council serving as an observer for transparency.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, highlighted that this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens. The government has established centers nationwide where citizens can purchase the rice at the subsidized rate.
