The exit of Sheikh Hasina from power in Bangladesh is being hailed by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as ‘the second round of liberation.’

In a recent interview, Professor Yunus hinted at the possibility of taking on a leadership role in a caretaker government to guide the country through its current turmoil.

When asked about accepting such a position, Yunus mentioned it as a “hypothetical one,” indicating his willingness depending on the conditions presented.

Reflecting on the situation in Bangladesh, Yunus compared Sheikh Hasina’s departure to a second liberation, drawing parallels to the country’s independence in 1971.
