SBU thwarts massive FSB saboteur network in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) recently announced the interception of a large-scale sabotage network orchestrated by Russia’s Federal Security Service in at least six Ukrainian oblasts. This network, involving two Ukrainian government officials, comprised nine individuals who were simultaneously apprehended in different regions. These suspects are accused of scouting critical infrastructure and military positions for Russian handlers, facing charges of treason and possible life imprisonment if found guilty. Additionally, a separate group of Odesa residents, aged 18 to 24, were detained for allegedly setting fire to military vehicles at Russia’s behest. These individuals sought “easy money” through Telegram channels, linking them to the FSB. The SBU’s swift action underscores the ongoing threat posed by foreign agents within Ukraine and their attempts to undermine national security.
