Interim government to be formed, army says
In an address to the nation, Bangladesh’s army chief Waker-Uz-Zaman has announced the formation of an interim government following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Zaman expressed his commitment to seek guidance from the president in establishing the new government and ensuring justice for those killed in anti-government protests. He reassured the public that the military would investigate all incidents and hold the responsible parties accountable.
Amid escalating tensions, Zaman called for calm among students and promised to work towards finding a solution for the country. The recent developments came after Hasina reportedly left the country amidst widespread demonstrations and violent clashes.
