By XINHUA

Namibia honored late President Hage Geingob by renaming the Hosea Kutako International Airport Road as the Dr. Hage G. Geingob Freeway. President Nangolo Mbumba highlighted the importance of infrastructure in promoting economic growth and regional integration, citing Geingob’s life as a purposeful journey. The ongoing construction of the freeway, connecting Windhoek to the airport, symbolizes a legacy of unity and cooperation between Namibia and China. Chinese construction companies, such as China Railway Seventh Group, are pivotal in completing the project by 2024, reducing travel time and enhancing transportation connectivity in Namibia. Deputy Prime Minister John Mutorwa expressed gratitude for Chinese support and advocated for continued cooperation between the two nations. The event signifies a milestone in Namibia’s infrastructure development and showcases the dedication of Chinese enterprises in delivering high-quality projects.
