The Israeli army has returned the bodies of 84 Palestinians which had been stolen from cemeteries in the Gaza Strip.
The bodies were buried at the Turkish cemetery in the Austrian neighborhood southwest of Khan Yunis in the south, as reported by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA. They were returned via the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing on Monday, making it the third group of bodies handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross during the ongoing aggression on Gaza.
‘Heinous Violations’
Hamas condemned the return of the bodies in a state of decomposition, highlighting the brutality of the Israeli occupation. The movement called for international condemnation of these actions and accountability for the inhumane practices conducted by the occupation forces.
Over 39,000 Killed
Israel’s continued offensive on Gaza has resulted in 39,624 Palestinians killed and 91,469 wounded in the past eight months. The conflict has also led to an acute famine, displacement of nearly two million people, and a large-scale mass exodus from Gaza.
