“Nobody will let us cause 2 million civilians to die of hunger even though it might be justified and moral until our hostages are returned.”

Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has made shocking remarks about the blockade on Gaza and the deaths of Palestinians due to hunger. He mentioned that allowing aid into Gaza is a necessity even though the deaths of two million Palestinians from hunger might be “justified and moral.” Smotrich’s comments came during a conference, highlighting the ongoing crisis in the blockaded enclave.

Resettlement of Gaza

Smotrich also expressed his opposition to prisoner swap deals with Hamas and the resettlement of the Gaza Strip. He claimed that any such agreements would jeopardize state security, emphasizing a tough stance on the issue.

Seizure of PA Funds

The Finance Minister has ordered the seizure of tax funds meant for transfer to the Palestinian Authority, redirecting the money to families of “terror victims.” This move is part of Israel’s broader strategy against terrorism and incitement within the Palestinian Authority.

‘Dire’ Situation

Norway has warned about the potential collapse of the Palestinian Authority due to lack of funding, raising concerns about the repercussions for the region. The situation is described as extremely dire, with implications for both Palestinians and Israelis.
