Tehran – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, recently concluded an official visit to Iran. The visit was at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart and included a meeting with Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the meeting, Safadi delivered a message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Iranian President regarding the regional situation and bilateral relations. President Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Jordan on various levels.
Discussions during the meeting touched on the recent escalation in the region following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political chief of Hamas. Jordan strongly condemned this act as a breach of international law, along with the recent aggression on Beirut.
Safadi emphasized the importance of de-escalation in the region, starting with an immediate halt to Israeli aggression on Gaza and respecting the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international law.
The meeting also addressed bilateral relations and regional issues, highlighting the need for peace and stability in the Middle East.
