Why did America take the risk in Gaza? | Israel-Palestine conflict

For almost 10 months, Israel has been conducting a devastating war in Gaza, violating international laws and leaving the population in dire conditions. The denial of basic necessities like food and shelter has made the majority of Gaza residents homeless.

Despite no strategic need for total destruction, Israel’s relentless assault continues, with the US providing unwavering support. This has raised questions about American motives and its role in the conflict.

Some speculate that American involvement is a way to assert dominance on the global stage, especially in the face of rising powers like China. The US’s military reinforcement in the Middle East following a Hamas attack signifies a desperate attempt to maintain its superpower status.

While some resistance against Israel and the US has emerged, including legal action, China’s support for Palestine, and military actions by Iranian allies, the overwhelming power and influence of the US remain unchallenged.

The lack of strong action from BRICS+, a group formed to counter Western hegemony, highlights America’s continued dominance until a credible challenge arises.

The situation in Gaza is not just a regional conflict but a global power struggle, with devastating consequences for the Palestinian population. Until a united front against Israeli aggression is formed, the US will continue to assert its authority, at the cost of international humanitarian law.
