Patna: A senior JD(U) leader and state minister, Ashok Choudhary, criticized Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav for his state-wide tour to highlight alleged failures of the NDA government in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Choudhary refuted Yadav’s claims about the government’s commitment to hiked reservations for deprived castes and failure to secure special status for Bihar. He also pointed out the increase in crime graph allegations.
The minister highlighted the RJD leader’s party’s historical failure in providing reservations to SCs and STs in panchayats during their rule. He credited Nitish Kumar for the constitutional rights of Dalits in panchayats and emphasized the establishment of SC and ST welfare departments.
Choudhary also challenged Yadav’s accusations on increased quotas and economic progress in Bihar, comparing budgets from 2005 to the present. He countered claims on law and order, citing improvement in speedy trials under the current government.
