In a heroic act, Yechiel Stern, a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from United Hatzalah, risked his life by climbing into a burning building in Jerusalem’s Beit Yisrael neighborhood to save a family. The fire caught the attention of residents who immediately alerted the emergency services.
Stern noticed the family trapped on the top floor of the building complex. Without hesitation, he scaled the building and assisted them in descending to safety, even as the flames threatened their lives. The fire eventually caused the roof to collapse.
Eli Beer, President and Founder of United Hatzalah, shared the inspiring rescue on social media, praising Stern for his bravery and quick thinking. The heroic act of risking his own safety to save the lives of others exemplifies the dedication and selflessness of first responders like Stern.
