Shocking news has emerged of a Florida attorney, Christopher Rodriguez, who attempted to detonate explosives outside the Chinese embassy in Washington DC. In a bizarre twist, he also tried to blow up a statue of Mao Zedong and Vladimir Lenin in Texas. Rodriguez drove to the embassy with 15 pounds of explosive material, but missed his target when he opened fire on the backpack containing the explosives.
The 45-year-old Army veteran was arrested in Louisiana after DNA evidence linked him to the backpack. This incident wasn’t Rodriguez’s first encounter with explosives, as he had previously been found with firearms and explosive materials in California. In a separate incident, he damaged the sculpture ‘Miss Mao Trying to Poise Herself at the Top of Lenin’s Head’ in Texas using tannerite.
Rodriguez has accepted a plea deal and faces a prison sentence of seven to ten years. This shocking case serves as a reminder of the potential dangers posed by individuals with destructive intentions.
