Five-year-old dies as jumping castle goes airborne

A tragic incident unfolded at a baseball game in Waldorf, Maryland, where a jumping castle with children inside was lifted into the air, resulting in the death of a five-year-old boy and injury to another child. The incident occurred at Regency Furniture Stadium during a game played by the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs team. Strong winds caused the bounce house to soar 15 to 20 feet high before crashing onto the field.

Medical responders and baseball team members rushed to help the children after the fall. Tragically, the five-year-old boy passed away at a local children’s hospital, while another child was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the incident, the game scheduled for the following night was postponed.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs team expressed their condolences to the affected families and the community. Charles County officials also extended sympathies and gratitude to the first responders. The town of Waldorf, located 45km south of Washington, DC, is now reeling from this heartbreaking accident.
