In a recent development, Ukraine’s defense forces targeted the Russian Black Sea Fleet submarine Rostov-on-Don in the port of Sevastopol. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the successful strike on the submarine in a post on Facebook. The attack resulted in the sinking of the Rostov-on-Don right in the port. Ukrainian forces also targeted an enemy submarine and an S-400 air defense system in Crimea.
Moreover, missile units and units of the Ukrainian Navy inflicted severe damage on four Triumf air defense launchers on August 2. The Rostov-on-Don submarine, a Kilo-class vessel capable of deploying Kalibr cruise missiles, was commissioned in 2014 and previously suffered damage in a missile attack in 2023. After undergoing repairs and testing in Sevastopol harbor, the submarine, estimated at $300 million, was targeted again in the recent strike.
This bold move by Ukraine against Russian forces demonstrates their unwavering commitment to defending their territory and sending a clear message to their adversaries.\
