Reports have emerged of a deadly clash between two rival gangs in Kano state, resulting in the loss of two lives. The Tukuntawa boys and the Sheka gang reignited their long-standing feud over supremacy, causing chaos on Zoo road. Eyewitnesses described a scene of violence with residents fleeing for cover as the gangs brandished dangerous weapons. Security operatives intervened to restore peace, but the Tukuntawa gang reportedly suffered significant casualties.
Amidst the unrest, protesters attempted to continue the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstration in defiance of a 24-hour curfew. However, heavily armed security forces dispersed the protesters in various locations across the metropolis. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had imposed the curfew following violent activities by hoodlums who vandalized government and private properties, including the Nigerian Communications Commission Industrial Digital Park and the state high court.
The situation remains tense in the area, with a high military presence at the Tukuntawa junction. The authorities are working to maintain order and prevent further violence in the region.
