Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan to visit Egypt for 2 days on Sunday

Welcome to the latest diplomatic update! Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to Egypt following an invitation from Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. This visit comes on the heels of a significant improvement in relations between the two countries, highlighted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s historic visit to Egypt last month.

During Erdogan’s visit, a joint declaration was signed, laying the groundwork for a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting to be co-chaired by the two presidents. Fidan’s upcoming meeting with Abdelatty will focus on finalizing preparations for this important gathering, which is set to coincide with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to Turkey.

The agenda for the discussions is extensive and covers a wide range of topics, including political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as regional developments. Of particular interest are opportunities for collaboration in energy, health, tourism, and defense. The visit will also address key regional issues such as Gaza, the Palestinian conflict, and developments in Libya, Sudan, and Somalia.

Stay tuned for updates on Fidan’s visit to Al-Arish and the Rafah border crossing, where he will inspect a logistics center managing humanitarian aid shipments from Turkey to Gaza, underscoring the growing ties between Turkey and Egypt.
