Shehu Sani urges protesters to end protest for safety – The Guardian Nigeria News

Civil rights activist and former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has called for an immediate halt to the nationwide protests in Nigeria to prevent further loss of lives and property.

In a tweet on X, Senator Sani expressed his disappointment at the hijacking of the protests by hoodlums, leading to destruction in various parts of the country. He urged those pushing for the continuation of the protests to reconsider their stance, especially in the North.

While acknowledging the constitutional right to protest, Senator Sani emphasized the need for peaceful demonstrations without threats to life and property. He also commended the swift response of security agencies in addressing the situation.

Highlighting the absence of protests in the South East, Senator Sani praised Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for proactive measures taken to restore calm and emphasized the importance of dialogue and consultation in crisis situations.
