A tragic incident shook the city of Lahore as Dr. Shahid Siddique, a hospital owner and founding member of PTI, was shot dead in Valencia Town after offering Friday prayers. As he left Khizra Mosque, an unknown assailant approached him, shot and injured him before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Dr. Siddique succumbed to his injuries.
The PTI leadership expressed shock and grief over the loss, with senior leader Zulfi Bukhari stating that Dr. Siddique’s cold-blooded assassination had left everyone in shock. Lahore PTI President Chaudhry Asghar Gujjar assured the family of the deceased that the party would stand with them to ensure justice.
Punjab police swiftly launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrator(s) responsible for this heinous act. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, as the victim’s son highlighted that their family had no enmity with anyone.
