The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has detained 108 suspects allegedly involved in vandalizing government and public properties during the nationwide hunger protests in the state. The State Commandant, Mohammed Lawal-Falala, revealed this while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Kano. The suspects were apprehended at different locations following intelligence from NSCDC’s departments, with various items found in their possession, including LCD TVs and generators.
Lawal-Falala emphasized NSCDC’s role in protecting national assets and infrastructure, stating the suspects would be charged after investigation. He urged the public to provide credible information for a safer environment and cautioned against buying stolen properties. The commandant assured that efforts were being made to recover all stolen items. The NSCDC is dedicated to safeguarding lives and properties in Kano State.
