Former US President Jimmy Carter, who is about to turn 100, has a special goal in mind – to vote for Kamala Harris in the upcoming US election. Despite entering hospice care earlier this year, Carter has defied expectations and will celebrate his milestone birthday on October 1.
Carter, a Nobel Peace laureate and the longest-living US president, has expressed his interest in politics and current events, particularly the situation in Gaza. His grandson shared that Carter is determined to witness the election and support Harris.
Vice President Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has reignited the party’s momentum since President Joe Biden stepped down. Carter’s legacy includes key achievements like the Camp David peace accords, as well as facing challenges like the Iran hostage crisis during his presidency.
Despite health setbacks, Carter remains determined to exercise his right to vote for a candidate he believes in, showcasing his resilience and dedication to civic engagement. Georgia’s early voting period will enable Carter to cast his ballot as soon as October 15.
