Israel’s Claimed Right to Provoke Enemies With Impunity ‘Does Not Work Anymore’
Sputnik International
Israel’s decades-long policy of targeting adversaries in Palestine and neighboring regions has not yielded remarkable success, warned Dr. Marco Carnelos, a former Italian Diplomat. The strategy of assassinations pursued by Israel, aimed at instilling fear, no longer holds the same power in the escalating conflicts.
“The Israelis wrongly believe that their claimed right to provoke anybody, anywhere, anytime will scare their enemies. I am afraid this calculus does not work anymore, if it ever worked,” Carnelos stated.
Despite the killings of Hamas leaders like Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah commander Sayyed Mohsen, the resolve of these groups remains strong. Israel’s actions, particularly amid peace talks, appear aimed at asserting its dominance without facing consequences, according to Carnelos.
