CRDA in Andhra Pradesh to restart discussions with Singapore to revitalize Amaravati deal

The Andhra Pradesh government’s Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is in talks with the Singapore government to develop the seed capital area in Amaravati, as decided in a recent meeting with chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The previous YSRCP government canceled an agreement with a Singapore Consortium in 2019, leading to the initiation of new discussions. The earlier agreement aimed to develop the seed capital area in Amaravati through the Amaravati Start-up Area Development Project.

Various companies and institutions had entered into partnerships for smart building projects in the area, which spans 6.84 sq km for development over 20 years in three phases.

Following the change in government, talks were initiated to discontinue the project, with the Singaporean government agreeing to withdraw with mutually agreed terms.
