Türkiye Denounces Israeli Foreign Minister’s Remarks

Recently, Turkish officials have condemned Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz for his remarks about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz stated, “Those who massacre innocent children and civilians in occupied Gaza are not allowed to mention Türkiye [and] the name of our President or the concept of freedom and democracy.”

Furthermore, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan criticized Katz’s comments as “a complete form of illness,” emphasizing that Katz’s focus should be on his role as Foreign Minister rather than making unfounded allegations against Turkey.

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun also rebuked Katz, calling him a “bloody genocidal murderer” and asserting that there is nothing Turkey can learn from individuals who engage in such atrocities.

In response to Katz’s remarks, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu condemned the insults against President Erdogan and reiterated that democracy and law cannot be taught by those responsible for the deaths of innocent children.

Overall, Turkish officials have strongly denounced Israel’s foreign minister and reiterated their support for President Erdogan in the face of baseless accusations.
