Telecom operators in Kerala’s Wayanad district are working tirelessly to restore connectivity in landslide-hit areas, ensuring crucial communication for rescue teams and the public. BSNL, Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea have enhanced and repaired telecom infrastructure to provide continuous coverage in the disaster-stricken region.
Following massive landslides that claimed 177 lives, BSNL has deployed 4G services in affected areas while Airtel is offering free data, calls, and extended bill payment deadlines. Jio has set up an additional tower for reliable connectivity, including network coverage for control rooms and relief camps. Vodafone Idea is providing free mobile data and extending bill payment dates, with stores serving as relief collection points.
Amid the ongoing relief efforts, Vi is converting all stores in Kerala into donation centers for essential items to support Wayanad’s recovery. The collaborative efforts of telecom providers reflect their commitment to aiding the affected communities during this challenging time.
