Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has strongly condemned a controversial post on social media calling for the expulsion of Igbo people from Lagos and the South-West region. The post, made by @Lagospedia, sparked outrage and reactions from Nigerians both online and offline.
In response, Sanwo-Olu’s media aide emphasized that the governor does not support such divisive and dangerous sentiments. He reassured that Lagos is a home for all citizens, regardless of their ethnic background, and urged unity among all residents.
The governor urged Lagosians to ignore the post and any similar divisive content, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the state. This message aligns with calls from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the Federal Government to investigate and take action against those promoting harmful hashtags like #IgboMustGo.
