NA resolution condemns Haniyeh’s killing as sabotage to Gaza ceasefire efforts – Pakistan

The National Assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the ongoing Israeli brutality in Gaza, with members saying that incidents such as the killing of Hamas’ top leader Ismail Haniyeh were “deliberate conspiracies to sabotage efforts to stop” the ongoing Gaza conflict.

The resolution, presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, highlighted the atrocities in Gaza, where over 40,000 innocent lives have been lost, including women and children. The resolution called for immediate ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the admission of the State of Palestine as a full UN member.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Haniyeh’s killing and declared a day of mourning across Pakistan. He emphasized the need for justice and accountability for Israel’s actions in Gaza and called for solidarity with the Palestinian people.

UNSC urged to ‘impose’ its call for Gaza ceasefire

The resolution urged the UNSC to hold Israel accountable for war crimes, provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians, and ensure the Palestinian medical students receive education in Pakistan free of charge.

Overall, the resolution expressed complete solidarity with Palestinians and denounced Israel’s continuous violence despite international calls for peace.
