Freed Palestinians reveal harrowing Israeli prison conditions

Israeli army released Palestinian prisoners from Gaza who revealed the brutal physical and psychological torture they endured. Transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza, the prisoners described their abuse to Anadolu Agency. Mahmoud Basim Mahmoud Ahmed shared how they were forced to lie face down, with dogs set on them and electric shocks administered.

Forced to eat feces

Ahmed explained the extreme conditions, with detainees having to keep their hands tied above their heads for hours, forced to eat bread and lie on their stomachs, or even eat feces if on a hunger strike. Some were taken to the 12th floor of a building for torture and back down while still being tortured.

Bark like dogs

Another prisoner, Said Abu Watfa, spoke of being stripped, shocked, and forced to bark at night by Israeli soldiers. Muin Muhammad Abdussatir Muhammad and Marwan Mesad Shaar also recounted horrendous treatment during their imprisonment.

35 days in shackles

Khalid Abulkerim, detained in Gaza City, shared how they were shackled and subjected to physical and psychological torture. The accounts of these released prisoners shed light on the harsh reality faced by Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
