Canadian teen sensation Summer McIntosh added another gold medal to her collection at the Paris Olympics, winning the 200-meter butterfly in dominant fashion. Defending Olympic champion Zhang Yufei of China started strong but couldn’t keep up with McIntosh, who set an Olympic record with a time of 2:03.03.
American swimmer Regan Smith settled for the silver once again, finishing in 2:03.84. Zhang Yufei took home the bronze with a time of 2:05.09. In another event, Hungarian swimmer Hubert Kós claimed gold in the 200 backstroke, coached by renowned coach Bob Bowman.
Despite a close call in the preliminaries, American star Caeleb Dressel advanced to defend his Olympic title in the 50 freestyle. Dressel posted the fifth-fastest time in the semi-finals and will compete for the gold on Friday night.
These Olympics have seen some incredible performances from young talents like McIntosh and established stars like Dressel, making it a truly memorable event for swimming fans around the world.
