Brave officers save colleagues and retrieve bodies

Police officers have bravely recounted the harrowing experience of rescuing a colleague and retrieving the bodies of two others after a violent attack on a rural property in Queensland.

Senior Sergeant Christina Esselink described hearing shots fired from a high-calibre rifle at the Wieambilla property, putting themselves in grave danger to protect their own.

Despite the chaos, officers like Esselink and Constable Keely Brough displayed exceptional courage in the face of danger, ultimately saving lives and protecting their community.
