Securing funds for Ukraine proves difficult: Washington – RT World News

As the United States struggles to find resources in its budget to support Ukraine, the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery, Penny Pritzker, emphasized the need for Kiev to increase its own budget revenues. Pritzker, a former US Secretary of Commerce, acknowledged the challenges of providing direct budget support and highlighted the importance of exploring other avenues to increase revenue.

During a panel discussion in Washington, Pritzker reassured that bipartisan support for Ukraine would remain consistent regardless of the outcome of the presidential election. The Biden administration has allocated over $55.4 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the conflict with Moscow began, including lethal weapons.

Pritzker’s team is closely collaborating with Ukrainian officials to develop a plan to enhance their budget revenue income. Despite past struggles to gain bipartisan support, the US continues to prioritize aid for Kiev. As the US national debt surpasses $35 trillion, Pritzker stressed the importance of finding alternative solutions to sustain support for Ukraine.

This underscores the urgency for Kiev to take proactive steps to boost its own finances and reduce reliance on external aid.
