The government of Pakistan has recently labelled the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna al Khawarij and proscribed two more militant outfits, Majeed Brigade (MB) and Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group (HGBG), bringing the total number of banned organizations to 81. This decision came after serious concerns about terrorist activities originating from Afghan territory.
The Majeed Brigade, known as the Balochistan Liberation Army’s dedicated suicide squad, was involved in a recent attack on a Gwadar port complex. The HGBG, operating from Afghanistan, has close ties with TTP and has been linked to various attacks on security forces.
Additionally, the government mandated referring to TTP as Fitna al Khawarij in all official communications, emphasizing the distortion of Islamic teachings by the terrorist group. This move aims to expose the true nature and ideology of TTP and prevent the glorification of individuals associated with the organization.
The anti-terrorism measures underscore the government’s commitment to combating extremist ideologies and promoting peace and development in the region. By proscribing these groups and denouncing their actions, Pakistan is taking a firm stand against terrorism and protecting its citizens from harm.
