The Labour Party remains unfazed by recent defections of some party members, dismissing them as orchestrated by opposition parties to cause internal strife. Despite key figures like Doyin Okupe and others leaving for the APC and PDP, the party asserts that new members are joining, strengthening its ranks.
The National Legal Adviser, Kehinde Edun, emphasized that while some may leave, more committed individuals are coming in. He called out the orchestrated attempts to create chaos within the party and assured that the party is growing stronger regardless.
National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, echoed this sentiment, attributing the internal discord to external influences. He highlighted efforts by the party’s national leader, Peter Obi, to reconcile all members ahead of the 2027 general election, despite challenges posed by external forces.
As the Labour Party navigates through these challenges, it remains focused on unity and resilience in the face of external pressures aiming to disrupt its course towards the upcoming elections.
