Residents of Kogi State continued their normal activities despite heavy security presence on Thursday, amidst nationwide protests against economic hardship. The major towns of Kogi, including Lokoja, Kabba, Ayingba, and Okene, saw residents going about their daily routines peacefully.

Despite the security presence, business ventures, banks, and corporate offices remained operational. The Commissioner of Police commended the residents for their cooperation and stated that peace is essential for development.

The state Information Commissioner credited Governor Usman Ododo’s call to shun protests for the peaceful atmosphere. Market woman Lois Johnson expressed relief that the protests were avoided in Kogi, emphasizing the dangers they pose.

Civil servant Dare Alade highlighted the real struggles of the people and urged the government to address them promptly. Market woman Bilikisu Umar echoed the call for urgent action to alleviate the rising cost of living.

The collective effort to maintain peace and stability in Kogi reflects a commitment to progress and development in the state.
