Admissions season at Delhi University is around the corner, with plans to fill remaining vacant seats using Class XII marks after regular admission rounds. This follows a UGC directive to ensure all UG and PG course seats are filled promptly.
DU VC, Yogesh Singh, stated, “We welcome the UGC directive and will use Class XII marks to fill vacant UG program seats.” Around 5000 seats were empty last year despite efforts.
According to UGC SOP, universities can hold entrance exams for UG and PG courses with vacant seats post regular admissions. DU aims to avoid an entrance exam but ensure all seats are occupied.
The current admission for 2024-25 offers 71,000+ seats in 65+ colleges through CUET UG. The delay in the second phase is due to postponed CUET UG results, which DU plans to expedite for full occupancy.
