The former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the #IgboMustGo hashtag on social media, calling it divisive and a threat to peace and security. Atiku urged the Federal Government to investigate and take action against those responsible for inciting hatred and ethnic discrimination.
Highlighting the importance of unity and coexistence, Atiku emphasized that every Nigerian has the right to live and work freely anywhere in the country. He warned against allowing hatred and bigotry to fester, citing the devastating consequences seen in other nations like Rwanda.
Atiku called on Nigerians to unite against divisive rhetoric and promote tolerance and understanding. He urged the government and security agencies to swiftly address the issue, ensuring that every citizen can live without fear of discrimination or persecution.
As a diverse nation, Nigeria’s strength lies in its unity. Atiku stressed the need to protect this fundamental principle and take immediate action against those promoting ethnic division and violence.
