US State Department Deploys Anti-Iran Rhetoric Despite President Pezeshkian’s Economic Agenda
Despite President Pezeshkian’s intentions to improve Iran’s economic relations with other countries and denounce US sanctions as cruel, Deputy Spokesman of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, chose to criticize Iran instead of addressing the president’s promises.
Patel diverted the conversation towards Iran’s treatment of women and girls, claiming that the US views Iran’s actions as unfair and cruel. He emphasized that Iran must adhere to international standards to be a part of the global system.
President Pezeshkian, however, remains steadfast in his commitment to normalize Iran’s economic relations with the world and lift the harsh sanctions. Despite acknowledging current challenges, he expressed optimism in leveraging Iran’s domestic capabilities to overcome obstacles.
