Amid escalating tensions in the region, the United States conducted a strike in Iraq as an act of self-defense, following an Israeli airstrike in Beirut that targeted Hezbollah’s top commander.
The strike, carried out within a base south of Baghdad utilized by Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), resulted in the death of four members of the group and injuries to four others, according to Iraqi police and medical sources.
Despite the attack, the Popular Mobilization Forces refrained from attributing blame in their statement following the incident.
