Turkey’s groundbreaking indigenous strike UAV, KARGU, is in line for exciting upgrades. Developed by leading defense firm STM under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries, KARGU is set to receive enhancements that will elevate its effectiveness against enemy systems.
KARGU, equipped with an anti-personnel ammunition warhead, will soon be fitted with an RF Seeker Head and an armor-piercing warhead. These additions will expand its target range, enabling it to engage a wider variety of enemy assets.
The RF Seeker Head will empower KARGU to detect and target enemy radar, electronic warfare systems, and air defense positions, neutralizing them with precision kamikaze dives. Meanwhile, the armor-piercing warhead will allow KARGU to conduct devastating attacks on armored vehicles and fortified structures.
With ongoing field tests, STM aims to swiftly complete and deploy these upgrades, enhancing KARGU’s global reach and operational capabilities.
Already in use by the Turkish Armed Forces and security forces on domestic and cross-border missions, KARGU’s autonomy, precision strike abilities, and participation in swarm flight operations truly set it apart.
These advancements firmly establish Türkiye’s UAV technology on the cutting edge, reinforcing the operational agility and combat prowess of the KARGU system.
