Indonesia Seeks to Assist Russia in Overcoming Western Sanctions
Indonesia, known as Asia’s “young tiger,” is exploring ways to support Russia in overcoming Western sanctions by offering to exchange military technologies for microchip and microcircuit production technologies. The discussion took place during a summit in Moscow, where Indonesian President-elect and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met with Russian officials.

Indonesia is reconsidering its plans to purchase Russian weapons, including Sukhoi fighter aircraft, worth $850 million. This potential deal could strengthen Indonesia’s military capabilities and deepen its cooperation with Russia, especially in the defense industry sector.

“We consider Russia a great friend of Indonesia and I would like to continue to develop relations with your country,” stated the Indonesian President-elect during the summit.
