OGRA Increases LPG Rates in Pakistan
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recently raised the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Pakistan. The domestic cylinder price has been hiked by Rs 26.90, now standing at Rs 2796.56.
Earlier in July, OGRA had announced an increase in LPG prices, with the cost per kilogram going up by Rs 12. The market price of LPG is currently ranging from Rs 270 to 280 per kilogram, exceeding the government-fixed rate of Rs 234.60.
In light of safety concerns following a tragic gas cylinder explosion in Hyderabad, the Sindh government has ordered a crackdown on illegal refilling stations. This includes the relocation of stations outside city limits, inspection of facilities, seizure of substandard cylinders, and the closure of unlicensed shops.
Amidst these developments, consumers are urged to be vigilant and ensure they are not being charged excessive prices for LPG.
