Israel Strikes Beirut’s Dahieh District, Killing Hezbollah Commander
Israel launched an attack on Beirut’s Dahieh district, targeting a residential building where the prominent Jihad leader Fuad Shukr was present. The strike resulted in civilian casualties, injuries, and widespread destruction. Hezbollah confirmed the incident and stated that they were still awaiting updates on the fate of Shukr and other civilians in the building.
Additionally, Hezbollah mourned the assassination of Hamas politburo head Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, praising him for his resistance against the U.S. and Israel. The conflicting reports about Shukr’s fate raised speculations, with some sources claiming he was killed while others reported his fate as unknown.
Shukr, Hezbollah’s top military commander, was described as Hassan Nasrallah’s right-hand man. The U.S. had offered a reward for his capture, linking him to past attacks on American soldiers. Born in Baalbek, Lebanon, Shukr was a key figure in Hezbollah’s operations for over three decades.
